About TDC

Through Tim Delaney Consulting clients gain access to key disciplines to improve their business outcomes anywhere in the world.

  • Negotiations: If negotiations are key to your results, there are proven ways to improve the outcomes of those negotiations. Training and direct negotiation consultation attack long-term repeatable skills and short-term situational outcomes respectively. Both are available through TDC.
    • As a Program Director for IBM, I negotiated and managed a broad variety of inter-company agreements, with US-based, French and Japanese companies, ranging from strategic alliances to OEM sales to joint development agreements. At least one of these agreements exceeded $300 million in size.
    • As a consultant for K&R Negotiation Associates, I am now General Manager, Negotiation Analysis, and creator of new disciplines in negotiations, including “Opportunity Forensics” and the “K&R Value Matrix ™”.
    • My writing on negotiation topics can be found at K&R’s “Negotiation and the News” pages.
    • I have consulted on potential agreements from $50,000 to $1.1 Billion within the past year.
    • My current negotiation interest is “Predicting Negotiating Outcomes”.
  • Understanding Business Value: The linkage of actual business interests such as increased revenue or profit, decreased resource levels or improved customer satisfaction and retention to technology and services sales or buys is critical to your business decision-making processes.  If the technology transaction doesn't get a job done, why make it?  If all alternative outcomes are equally likely, should price determine your actions?
    • This business value focus has strongly influenced all areas of my work, and contributed to my success.
  • Project management: Disciplined project management improves your outcomes.
    • I managed a variety of development organizations in computer hardware and software. Team sizes were from 6 to 100. The largest team was divided across the United States and France.
  • Process Consulting: My combination of negotiation experience and development expertise provides a unique perspective in the analysis of process and project issues.
  • Client management: Most clients say that "client relationships" are critical to their success. I understand this discipline from my experience at IBM and K&R, plus my extensive consulting interactions.

My classroom and consulting results are highly rated by the clients themselves. I am in my 10th year of consulting, for clients in company sizes from 100 to over 100,000 employees, in a variety of industries.

I graduated as a Departmental Honors Fellow in Mathematics from the University of Connecticut.  I live with my family in upstate New York.
